Though we meet throughout the week, Sunday gatherings are pivotal to the life of a church. It is the main opportunity to connect with the complete body of the church in community and, ultimately, connect with God through singing, gospel-centered teaching and prayer. No matter your background or faith, all are invited.
Our services are designed to challenge people to an authentic relationship with God through the light of the gospel in a welcoming environment. In these gatherings, we sing, read and explore the Scripture, celebrate in communion and connect in community.
We hope you will join us!
When and where do you meet for Sunday Service?
Our weekly service is at 10:30 AM on Sundays at Middle School #4 at 107 Bright St, Jersey City, NJ 07302. Starting at 10:15 AM, we serve coffee and bagels before the service, so we invite you to come a few minutes early to visit and enjoy the refreshments. Once you arrive, there will be greeters at the doors and signs indicating the way to the service held in the school’s auditorium and HopeKid’s check-in.
I’ve never been to church before or have taken a long break from church and am not sure what to expect. Will I be welcome?
Yes! We welcome everyone from every background and walk of life to join us for a Sunday service and participate in the life of our church.
Can I bring my kids and is there a kid's church?
Yes! Anyone of any age is welcome at our Sunday Services. Kids 1+ can be checked in at the HopeKids check-in station prior to the start of the service. We have a few different options for kids based on their ages on a Sunday morning. Feel free to fill out this optional HopeKid’s Pre-registration Form to help us best prepare for you!
Visit the HopeKids page for more details on ages and classrooms.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever you are comfortable in! On any given Sunday, you’ll see people dressed up, dressed down, and everything in between. Come as you are!
When is communion served?
Communion is served the first Sunday of each month. We invite anyone who has a personal faith in Christ to partake in communion. And everyone is welcome to join us after that service for lunch.
What are your church’s affiliations and beliefs?
Hope Jersey City was established in 2017 as a church plant of the Hope network of churches in New York City and is part of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) denomination. Put simply, we are a Bible-believing, gospel-preaching church that views personal faith as evidence of a vital relationship with Jesus Christ. To learn more about what we believe, visit our About Us section.
Do you livestream the worship services if I need to worship online?
Yes! If you are not physically able to attend on a Sunday morning, we encourage you to tune in to our live stream on Sundays at 10:30 AM. You can view the livestream on Youtube.
Is there parking?
There is street parking around the school, however, it can be difficult to find an open spot. There are paid parking lots surrounding the Grove Street Path stop which is about a ten minute walk from where we meet.
Can I bring my stroller?
There’s plenty of spots in the school where we meet to store your stroller. You can also push it into the family room if you prefer to view the livestream from the family room.
