What actually is the gospel?
Most of us think we know. It’s the message that gets you in the door of Christianity. The thing you believe to become a Christian, and then you move on to the deeper stuff: discipleship, ethics, spiritual practices, theology.
But what if the gospel isn’t just the entry point into the Christian life? What if it’s the thing that shapes every square inch of your life. From the way you work, the way you fight with your spouse, the way you read the news, the way you handle failure, the way you think about justice, the way you doubt, the way you hope?
That’s what this class is about.
Our claim is that the gospel is stranger, sharper, and better than most of us have been led to believe.

This pre-marital seminar covers essential topics that dive into the heart of a healthy marriage:
- Navigating Conflict: Developing healthy communication and resolution skills.
- Financial Partnership: Aligning your values and managing resources together.
- Intimacy & Connection: Strengthening your emotional and physical bond.
We want you to prepare for your marriage as much as you prepare for your wedding. Our hope is that you walk away from this session not just ready for a beautiful ceremony, but truly prepared for the years of "I do" that follow.
Wondering what it’s like to raise kids in a city environment like Jersey City? Join us for a pragmatic, experiential workshop designed to move past simple anecdotes and toward a framework for the long haul of raising your kids in a city environment.
We’ll cover four core pillars:
The Long Game: Resisting the pressure for immediate "proof" of success as a parent.
Parenting as Leadership: Articulating a clear vision for who your kids are becoming.
Preparation for Life: Using the city as a training ground for a complex world.
Strategic Rubrics: Developing how your family makes major decisions.
Join us for this afternoon workshop to sharpen your parenting strategy and build community with others navigating the unique rewards of urban family life, whether you're raising toddlers, teens, or anyone in between.
Cost: $5/person - light refreshments served.
Childcare: $5/child
Babies/lap infants are welcome to join with parents in the workshop! No need to register them.

Is the Bible relevant today? Is there more to life than this? Do you ever pray? Who was Jesus? What does faith mean to you?
Over 7 weeks you are invited to come out for a shared meal, watch short films introducing different aspects of the Christian faith, and engage in open conversation. At Alpha, you can ask anything-it's a safe space to question life, faith, and meaning. Everyone is welcome. You're invited no matter your background or beliefs. Alpha is free, and there's no pressure to come back.
(May 30th is the "Alpha Day Away", an all-day experience where we will gather with other NYC area Alpha groups and spend the day together)
Meet new people, eat some tasty food, hear some good music and see if Alpha is for you.
Is it for me?
Definitely yes. Launch Night is the first week of Alpha, where you get to hear what Alpha is all about. If you’re completely new to the Christian faith, or you've been looking for a safe space to ask questions like "Is there more to life than this?" or "Is the bible even relevant today?" and like the idea of free food and meeting new people, it’s for you.
What can I expect?
A fun evening with new friends. There’s free food and drink, a short talk about Alpha (just so you know what it is and what to expect) and good music.
When & where is it?
Wednesday at 7PM
Hybrid Coffee & Kitchen
398 Manila Ave. Jersey City, NJ 07302
Alpha Launch Night is geared towards adults and childcare is not provided.
