A rule of life is an intentional, conscious plan to keep Christ at the center of everything we do. It is a plan that clarifies what is most important and how God weaves into our work, relationships, and rest.
While the word “rule” may strike you as a strict or binding constraint, it is derived from the Latin word regula. The idea is regulating our lives around a planned path just like a vine growing on a trellis for support and guidance.
We will develop a personal framework for your spiritual journey with God. Our hope is that this rule of life would serve as a framework for
freedom and growth – not as a set of rules that restrict or constrain, but as a way of being deeply formed by Jesus.
"A rule of life is simply a handbook to make the very radical
demands of the gospel a practical reality in daily life."
+ St. Benedict

In the kingdom community, Advent is an opportunity for God to teach our hearts to celebrate waiting as a corporate spiritual discipline of trust. As our hearts swell toward Christmas, our carols, candles, and traditions of anticipation culminate in a global celebration of God’s faithfulness in bringing the Messiah to a manger. The starlight of Christmas and the sunrise of Easter are the foundations of faithfulness on the Christian calendar. Advent, like Lent, is a season of savoring God’s goodness and anticipating his favor. The holidays become the Holy Days.
