Compassion is one of our core values at Hope. We want to partner with others to build a great city that is marked by justice, mercy, and compassion. We believe that compassion is first received - God has been compassionate to us. And therefore, in response to his generosity, we can’t help but respond by compassionately meeting the needs of those in our city and beyond.
We want to expand and grow our Hope Community Initiatives around compassion to do more seasonal projects, events and ongoing programs. This will require us all to listen and be more aware of the needs in our spheres of influence. It will also give us opportunities to enter into the brokenness and use what we have to respond to those needs - whether that’s with our time, money, or gifting. It’s a daunting yet beautiful goal, and one we will only accomplish with a collective effort of our whole church getting involved.
During this Advent Season, we have ways to volunteer with two of our current Hope Community Initiatives (click the initiative for more information):
Lastly, as we hear more about the growing vision for our Compassion ministry, we invite you to:
Pray that God opens your eyes to your neighbors and to the brokenness in our city. Ask him to show you how he wants you to be involved.
Volunteer - join a project or propose and lead initiatives that are close to your heart and will serve to build a more just and compassionate city.
