The Lord's Prayer: Waking Up to God in the Midst of Everyday Life

Prayer was never meant to be a performance for God; it is simply a relationship we step into with Him. Yet, for many of us, prayer feels like a struggle. We are often overwhelmed by the distraction, noise, and busyness of our city, or we feel the pressure to be impressive and articulate when we finally do slow down. But Jesus teaches us that God is not a distant judge waiting to be convinced, but a loving Father who "knows what you need before you ask."

Therefore, the Lord's Prayer is an invitation to cut through the noise and enter into the assurance that we are already bathed in the Father’s love. In this series, we will explore each petition. We will see that the first three are focused on God’s character and rule, while the last four are requests for God’s help. But what you will notice is that this prayer is an invitation to join Jesus in His own prayer. We are emboldened to speak to the Creator with the same childlike trust that Christ has with His Father. Ultimately, this series is about discipling us to live in conscious awareness of God in our everyday lives.
