Overview:
The Discipleship Journey is designed to facilitate an intentional community that seeks to follow Jesus Christ and grow in faith. Over eight weeks, we will seek to understand the teachings of Jesus Christ and apply them to our lives. Together, we will explore the path of discipleship, delving into the Gospel, discerning God's voice, prayer, justice, sabbath, and more.
Course Schedule:
9/18 - Understanding and Applying the Gospel: An examination of the Gospel's core teachings and their application in modern life.
9/25 - Communal Discipleship: Building a strong community of followers of Jesus, working together for spiritual growth.
10/2 - Prayer & Scripture: Deepening our connection with God through prayer and the study of His word.
10/16 - Justice/Evangelism/Mission: Engaging in the world with a Christ-centered perspective in justice, evangelism and mission work.
10/23 - Discerning God’s Voice: Learning to recognize and learn God's voice in our lives.
10/30 - Gifts of the Holy Spirit: Identifying and utilizing our spiritual gifts in our lives and the life of the church.
11/6 - Discerning Calling: Recognizing God's calling in our lives and learning to respond faithfully.
11/13 - Being/Sabbath/Rule of Life: Embracing the rhythm of rest and spiritual disciplines that shape our walk with Christ.
Details:
Duration: Gather for eight weeks, diving into biblical content, deepening community, and growing in our walk with Christ as together we practice the way of Jesus.
Attendance Policy: Participants are allowed to miss a maximum of one class.
Location: In-person downtown JC, address shared upon registration.
$15 registration fee will go towards book resources for students. (Financial assistance is available. Please email kristen@hopejerseycity.org)
